Hermosa businesses generated the highest sales tax revenue in City history in fiscal year 2018-2019, demonstrating that the City and the community support local business.

Added Trader Joe’s and Lazy Acres

Justin helped the City add Trader Joe’s and Lazy Acres which, together with Vons, provide Hermosa a full range of quality supermarkets.

Added Skechers

Justin helped the City add Skechers’ executive offices and design center at the former Vasek Polak dealership on PCH, bringing hundreds of jobs to Hermosa.

Added the AVP and Other Special Events

Justin helped bring back the AVP Hermosa Beach Open and bring the Teen Choice Awards and Hermosa Summer Series to Hermosa. These and other special events seek to entertain residents and generate short- and long-term foot traffic and global exposure for Hermosa businesses.

Relaxed Permit and Parking Requirements

Justin helped relax parking requirements, allow A-Frame signs, and establish low-cost entertainment permits to encourage a varied mix of businesses in Hermosa.

Promoted Wednesday Farmers Market

Justin helped the downtown Farmers Market offer live music, later hours, and other amenities to draw foot traffic to downtown businesses, all while working with the Farmers Market to ensure its products complement, rather than compete with, downtown businesses.

Improved Lighting and Cleanliness

Justin helped improve downtown lighting and cleanliness to make downtown safer and more welcoming to residents and visitors.
